NDR Core was born out of a necessity identified during the "The Divisive Power of Citizenship" project at the Institute for European Global Studies (EIB). Faced with the challenge of managing and presenting a large number of person instances in a sustainable and accessible manner, our technology partner persisted the data in an Invenio repository complete with source imagery, available over IIIF. We then made the data accessible over an API and needed to build two websites which had to be basically able to do the same with two data repositories: present, contextualize and make searchable.
After finishing the project and creating a prototype for a more generic system, Sorin Marti created the now available system as his master's thesis. We realized more projects while still in development and also now, NDR Core is a very young system. We hope to further develop it to implement more APIs and other functionailities.
